Glorifying the Busy

Presented at Unperforming, Floating Island Gallery, June 2014

The printed phrases and slogans were taken from primary schools where I’ve led workshops. This educational jargon is commonly used to define achievement, success and learning outcomes in school environments. This action looks at contemporary obsession with busy-ness, success and value-filled activities, by shifting focus to the seemingly value-less and futile activity of throwing paper aeroplanes that aim to reach the other side of the river but never do.
